Terms of Use
Last Updated: 6 October 2026
Welcome to the ATP Membership application (https://atpmembers.app), operated by The Association for the Teaching of Psychology ("The ATP", "we", "us", or "our").
By registering for an account, purchasing a membership, or accessing our platform, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.
1. Membership Eligibility and Types
- About the ATP: We provide a community, support, resources, and networking opportunities for psychology teachers and related professionals.
- Membership Tiers: We currently offer Full and Student memberships. By selecting the Student option, you self-certify that you are currently a student. We reserve the right to request verification of this status.
- Duration: Memberships are billed annually and remain active for one full year from your payment date.
2. Account Registration and Security
- Account Creation: You can register and pay for your own membership, or someone else may purchase a membership on your behalf.
- Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your account details up to date.
- Security: You access your account via an email sign-in link or a password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, you must notify us immediately.
- Access: Only current, paid members are granted access to the internal document library, notices, and specific member profiles.
3. Payments and Renewals
- Fees: Membership fees are displayed in British Pounds (GBP). Prices are subject to change, but you will be notified prior to your renewal if a change affects you.
- Payment Methods: We accept card payments via Stripe and PayPal within the app. For Standing Orders (SO) or BACS payments, you must contact us directly at [email protected].
- Subscriptions: If you pay via Stripe, your membership will be set up as a yearly recurring subscription. You can manage, switch, or cancel your renewal settings via the billing portal in your account.
- Switching Payment Methods: If you wish to switch from a recurring PayPal payment to Stripe upon your renewal, you must ensure you have successfully cancelled your active PayPal subscription first to avoid double charges.
4. Platform Usage and Conduct
- Permitted Use: The resources, documents, and noticeboards provided within the app are for your personal, professional development. You agree not to distribute, sell, or exploit our member-only resources without explicit permission.
- System Integrity: You agree not to misuse our systems. We utilize IP-based rate limiting to protect our forms and address lookup features from automated abuse. Any attempt to bypass these limits may result in access restriction.
5. Administrative Rights
- Our administrative team reserves the right to manage the member database to ensure smooth operations. This includes the right to amend membership statuses (e.g., marking accounts as lapsed), manage uploaded documents, and update welcome materials.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Use or engage in behavior harmful to The ATP or its members.
6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The ATP Membership app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to keep the platform secure and functional, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The ATP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the application.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify members via email or an internal platform notice. Continued use of the platform after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
